Considering 6D For Second Video Body

I'm considering selling off my 60D and picking up that new 6D solely with the intention to have another FF video camera. Anyone else doing the same? I mean full frame slow motion was only possible with the 5dm3 and above models...now we have this cheap(er) alternative.

I shoot stills almost exclusively with my 5d2 and never need the swivel screen or high burst rate of the 60D...very tempted to choose a 6D over another 5d2 in this case.

60fps 720p, meh.

Suggested alternative? Blackmagic?

I am too, but what are the 60D's going for now? Plus theres always the negative of jumping on a camera body right when it comes out. And one top of that the 6D will drop in price within a couple months or so just like all the previous models have. Itll be $1900 or less in no time I bet.

I'm holding out until Christmas (at the earliest). It was just thoughts in the back of mind. If the price point ever hits $1700 (in the near future), it'd be an almost thoughtless purchase on my end.

If there's a headphone jack, the only thing the 6D is missing for me is an articulating screen. if it had one, I'd be ordering mine in a heartbeat.

Best hold out for the 70D then. Rumoured to be going more up market than the 60D so expect a metal body (I hope) Surely they must put a headphone socket in it and the ability to continuous focus with stepper motor lenses.

Canon are already starting to discount their 60D bodies so a good omen for an imminent release.

With ML, the need for a headphone jack has been diminished.

I'll wait and see how this new sensor performs. Unless the IQ is noticeably better than the mkii, I'll probably just be picking up a second mkii, especially considering used bodies will probably be going for $1,200 by Christmas.

Thinkin about getting one as a backup camera for my wedding videos with my 7D. Don't know if the mark 2 is a better choice for video though.

No articulating screen, but you'll be able to use a smartphone/tablet as a wireless external monitor.

I'm still on the fence and with the realization that the 5D2 will be $1000 cheaper in months, I'm back to considering the 5D2.

I want it, but not sure how well it does in low light due to the sensor. Plus, I will have to buy a Mac, learned final cut pro..more expenses then I tho. And if I can process this in Premiere pro, I buy one right now after I see how it does at wedding reception.
