Great design in my opinion.

the 30mm 1.4 is popular so this one should be a winner

Wow! See, these guys actually follow the market and come up with things that people want and would buy (unlike CANON who are all over the place). Good for them, I'm sure they'll sell a ton of these.

I don't own any Sigma's, but it appears the lens body is not of typical Sigma design. A new line of lenses maybe? It looks kinda like a Leica S style lens. Very streamlined, minimalist and quite sexy looking. (Assuming production units are similar to images on Sigma's site)

With the release of three new lenses, the 17-70, 35, and 120-300, they are redesigning and reworking things. Not the typical Sigma design :D

The MFD is fantastic, 9 blades, looks super solid - can't wait to find out more about it. If the AF is solid, put me down.

Seems like the lens will have a technology to allow the user to MA the lens itself, which will most likely help get rid of some of the bad rep for their front / back focus issues on their primes.

"Based on these new product lines, we have developed special software (SIGMA Optimization Pro) that can update the lens firmware and adjust parameters such as focus . The focus limiter is also customizable for Sports lenses. Using special USB Dock, the user will be able to connect the lens to their PC, and, using easy-to-operate on-screen controls, fine-tune focus and adjust other parameters to suit their personal preferences." - Nice!

Very nice indeed.. I really hope this works as well as it sounds. Hopefully this catches on with other brands as well.

I am very interested in this lens as well. I was wondering if Canon was possibly going to announce a 35L update this week but they seem to be all about bodies and new formats lately.

Wow. Good job Sigma - Really taking customer feedback to heart and trying to improve their lineup in very innovative ways.

Love the new design!

WERD! I will be all over this one. How long does it usually take for things like this to be released?
