Useless. Other than following other photographers. That is the only thing I can find it useful for.

I use it. It's great for my particular interests and my work peers use it quite a lot for projects and travel related conference work (medical field). I find a lot of professionals using it personally, physicians, lawyers, business execs, etc whereas they use Facebook for more marketing stuff. Unlike other social networks, it takes active use because it's not really geared towards discovery. That's a very weak point in my opinion that if Google wants it to stick around and not just be another of their experiments; they need to address. EDIT: Note, this could be completely localized to my geography and industry/hobbies.

I prefer it to Facebook and Twitter by a pretty large margin but again, it serves my interests and groups better than the other options. There's also no issues with idiotic games or applications as on Facebook and the perpetual changes they seem to make to it's UI.

I tend to follow entertainment stuff on Twitter (mostly comics and authors) and use it as a near total consumption service. Facebook I use as a family and friend sharing and consumption service. G+ I use as a hobby and work collaborative service. When Facebook began, I used it the way I use G+ now but that use has changed over time as the population changed.

Hope that helps.

I would hardly say that its useless. I have made about 20 or so friends that I hang out with and talk to on a regular basis from Google+. In that group are a couple photographers that live in the area that I live in and we have gone on a few photowalks and have planned more in the future. If you compare it to Facebook, I tell people that Facebook is for people you already know, and Google+ is for people you want to get to know. It also helps if you use the Google+ app on your mobile device and make full use of the "nearby" function. Just my 2 cents.

Depends. I don't follow people for pictures but there are absolutely lots of people that post pictures. It is nothing at all like Instagram or Flickr. I've seen some people make comparisons recently. They are nothing at all alike though. I'm not even sure where that's coming from.

There's nothing at all from stopping people from putting circles together for photo sharing/critiquing but that would only be one small use of the service. I personally don't follow any of those but still get quite a few photos and other works of art (obviously photographed) posted in my circles just from people sharing them in my interest groups.

Facebook has the market share, and google just came on too late with very little to offer that is much different than FB.

It's going to be tough to ever kill facebook.

Thank you. bw!

I'm very active on G+, and I've made a lot of good contacts there, learned a ton, and get a lot of great feedback. It's all about how you use it and what your goals are.

It no doubt has its place. It would be gone already if it didn't. But for me, I have not found it to be any more useful than a RSS reader. I have been using it since "you had to know somebody" and have yet to find a way to make it a useful tool. I do like it as an "RSS reader" since most of what people post is the same as their blog. The way it handles photos is great.

I use it strictly to share family pictures and videos with family/friends. I like the fact that I can restrict who sees what I post.

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.
