I will say... remember that if you want to trade gear around just stay in this thread, we're bad influences ;)

haha for sure  you will almost definitely end up with either Nikon or Canon version of the 70-200mm and a few high end primes

Looks small in the pics...I don't know what a d700 is like either. Compare it to the 5dii.

the D700 is like a very muscular, solid build man compared to the plastic 5D MKII ;):lol:

have you held it? its as big as the D700 as far as what I have read on FM... so I don't think it's small.

nah its smaller. about the size of xxD eos bodies.

https://photography-on-the.net …p=15047165&postcount=2422

it maybe smaller then the full size, but it is quite comfy in the hands. well for me that is. i have big hands, ask monkey

Again...not familiar with "Muscular men" either.:lol:

I get it though. I got the gear listed in my sig that I would have to sell, plus the brand new 85 1.8 I'm picking up tomorrow  plus some small stuff like the remote, grip, 2 Batteries, CF cards, etc. If I could sell all that and get the 2 Nikon equivalent flashes, 70-200 and at least the 85 1.8 and 50mm 1.8...close to even, I'd do it.

except for the top prism/pop up flash its almost as big as the D700 as far as this guy is concern

Basically the two bodies are closer in size than you might think. The D700 sits taller, especially with the VF/popup height, while the actual top LCD and top controls not far apart. The D700 might feel a little wider to me, but it's likely also to do with the fact that the grip is meatier. The D600 grip doesn't feel wimpy to me though, it's cut in a way that may let your fingers wrap around and "in" more if that makes sense. Weight wise the D700 feels slightly heavier, but again likely not as much as I expected. The D700 surprisingly doesn't feel that it's built more solidly, or more metal.

I am not sure..is your 70-200mm ISII? if not, I think you have to cough up some money to buy what you want on the Nikon side, Nikon flashes are expensive too.

non IS. Think I'll take everything in to Calumet and see what they will offer BEFORE I pickup the lens.

I hate shipping and selling on here takes to long...I have no patience. lol But if Calumet can't make it happen then I'll consider selling on here.

Can't believe I'm even thinking about this! I don't know if I like the smaller D600 body or hate it.

Shall I tempt you? ;)
