Then we have the odd exploding substation taking out a few square miles at a time. I see... yeah the trees is usually the ones that will take out the powerlines. laxlife1234 wrote in post #15188279 http://www.newsday.com …-10-days-to-fix-1.4165032 WOW. 900k+ of LIPA's customers are without power... out of their 1.1 million ![]() wow!!! Yeah if its a typhoon, usually the center or eye is pretty calm, its the outer ring of the typhoon and the heavy rains that it tags along that does most of the damage

You'll end up getting a Monthly salary of about the same as what you get in 3-4 days there in Hawaii Yeap and most of the time the towers and power lines are high up and built better than homes so they usually end up not getting damage at all unless the power companies decide to cut power in certain areas due to risk. We experience flooding every year back home so its not new to me ![]() Wait, most of your powerlines run underground? So if it floods then they have to cut it off I guess. Ongoing program around here is to place utitlities underground. It really is a nightmare down there in some areas... good as-built maps are a must. | Canon EOS Systems |

And the towers actually owned by us have generators that feed off of gas and or propane. We also have crews that tow diesel generators to sites too. Matter of fact in a few day some guys are headed to Connecticut to help out. I dont work on those systems but i'll go if they ask, Honestly i'd rather go to the midwest. Aren
