You've seen my samples. Shall I post shadow recovery from both cameras? ;) I'm gonna wait a little longer. $2100 would be my threahold for the 5D3.

Omar, just remember that you're buying a half stop improvement over the 5D II. :)

So true. I wish the 5DIII offered more of an improvement in dynamic range though. :(

Improved AF is huge, plus the at least half stop improvement, plus the ISO stops over the 7D. It's a good upgrade for Omar.

Well, you're going into FF. That's a given.

The improved dynamic range benefits are only at iso 400 and below. Once you go over that they are dead even. I dont push my shadows a ton to begin with so banding isnt an issue.

Now you see my thought process. The 5dmkII was never an option for me with the crippled AF system it had. The 5dmkIII is a better option and the stops in improvement will be massive.

It is a good upgrade. The improvement isn't leaps and bounds imo. His money will be better spent on a RX-1. :p

Yeah, it's just not a huge improvement even there. For most of what I do it's not an issue, but for landscape stuff it would be nice.

Then again this it would be a multipurpose camera for me and not a dedicated landscape camera, the D600 or D800 would be the best choice for that.
