Does Beach Camera and Abe's of Maine charge NY sales tax?

Nope but they dont have it at 2799. So i have to play the waiting game. Black friday seems like the right time for this to happen. Canon will mandate MSRP starting tomorrow so the 5dmkIII price will go up to 2850. The only way you can see a lower deal is with the "put in cart to see our price" option. No more advertised below MSRP prices going forward. Just like Nikon.

No way. Nikon was trash 10 years ago even if they ushered in DSLR's. These things come in waves. Dont sweat it. :D

We'll see how they do with their next FF body. Right now I'm converting all my Zeiss ZE to ZF.2. I can use an F to EOS adapter with no issue. :)

I know but it just seems canons going down hill.

Compared to what? Nikon? You mean the company who has grips falling of their camera, major AF issues, etc?

The grass is always greener...

The same goes with Canon. People griped even with the light leak issue. Solution? Use duct tape. :p

Exactly. It's technology, there are going to be problems. To say Canon has changed a lot lately and has been going downhill is ridiculous and not accurate at all. Both Nikon and Canon are improving, just because they aren't doing exactly what you want them to do doesn't mean it's not an improvement.

And for your needs getting near MF type DR is a huge boost and certainly a no brainer purchase for you (Especially with a 14-24 :p)

The improved dynamic range benefits are only at iso 400 and below. Once you go over that they are dead even. I dont push my shadows a ton to begin with so banding isnt an issue.

I live between iso 400-3200. ;)
