Finally ordered a set of Gitzo legs and an RRS BH-55 ballhead with a plate. Cost me nearly $1,400 but worth it.
No more shooting long exposures with my video fluid-head tripod  (I lost my $200 manfrotto tripod back in June)

Systematic 6x 4 section.
I lost it after my NYC wedding shoot in June. Eh. It was a cheapo anyways, I didn't like it.
I always wanted a sturdy one so I can use my 70-200 lens as well.
All I need is an L bracket that's designed for the battery grip. Come on RRS hurry up with your design and start shipping them already!!!

I left the tripod somewhere in NYC. That's how I "lost" it

Yeah a good set of legs are expensive! But it's much better than going through a few sets and THEN getting a good one. If you're getting a tripod, get a good one right away. I wanted to spend around $500 total but then I thought about it and I KNEW I would upgrade later on. So I had to spend over a thousand bucks to get a good setup including all of the plates, L bracket, clamp, etc.

Once you buy a good set of legs, you'll never have to upgrade for a long while. I have two sets of Gitzo legs and they've never given me issues. I may pick up an RRS set up later. :)

Went to Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara today and tested out the D600, D800 and the 5D MKIII...
I must say...the shutter sound of the 5D MKIII seems weird

the 24-120mm f/4 seems pretty nice on the D800 :D

My eyes were glowing looking at all the Gitzo tripods, thinktank bags, lowepro bags, vanguard etc... all the different lenses, Leica and even big a$$ telescopes
