Went to Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara today and tested out the D600, D800 and the 5D MKIII...
I must say...the shutter sound of the 5D MKIII seems weird

the 24-120mm f/4 seems pretty nice on the D800 :D

My eyes were glowing looking at all the Gitzo tripods, thinktank bags, lowepro bags, vanguard etc... all the different lenses, Leica and even big a$$ telescopes

Nice! The shutter sounds on those cameras are very different. :)

yeah the D600 and the D800 have the solid thud sound while the 5D MKIII sounds like there are bells attached to the shutter ;)

I encountered some birders yesterday also... most of them were using Canons... I think 2 of them on the far side have the 400mm f/5.6 and the one on the middle have a 400mm f/2.8... the one nearest to me have a Sigma, it looks like a sigma 150-500 or something like that.

I was there to check out the autumn colors, so I only bought my camera and 24-70mm... too bad  I took that shot above with my phone haha

He's complaining about wifi... I'm complaining about no power... Yet there's people with no houses here on LI. Boy I lucked out.

Yes, we have a lot to be thankful for! I don't have power either, but we run a generator on a heater to heat the house, and we hooked the WiFi router up to the generator; amazingly, the phone came back on!
Frankly, I am amazed that they have anyone's power back on yet; we met a small convoy of power trucks coming into Elkins, and they have gotten to work! They already have some people back on! Given the scope of the storm damage, I amazed that they have anything on yet!

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."
