No AF, rest of it works though...

yeah i just read as long as it has AF-S written in gold on the body it'll work, i promise i wont be staying with the d3000 long if i pick it up, i've been eyeing a d80 for awhile but my goal is to get a d300.

The AF on a D300, D7000, etc would be pretty damn good on it actually, D80 has a weak in-body motor but it would be servicable..

Well the D800 just wont happen... Personally I'd rather have good glass over good bodies. Right now I'm all talk though, I have to sell off a few things and then see if I still wanna switch.

If I switch back to Canon I'm getting a 5D2 again and either a 35L or 50L and a 135L. JK about that 85.

New york is slowly getting back to "normal" so i would say it has improved over the previous week. At least in terms of transportation. Not sure if you saw totoy but i have a D600, 35 1.4g, and an 85 1.4g on order

Not so much hear. It is rare that i hear about a suicide especially in the rails.

Didn't realize Omar went darkside.

Goodness. You have issues

Although 135 is an awesome lens if shooting distance and light isn't a problem. I loved mine back in the day. Personally, I'd never get a 135L or 135DC Again since thy have no IS/VR.
Having a vibration stabilization is a MUST for me when it comes to telephoto. I can get away with 85mm but anything over 100mm, needs IS/VR.

I don't know why you want to switch. D700 is a GREAT body. D800 will give you a headache when working with those 40-45mb files. You would need a state-of-the-art computer/processor and graphics to be able to enjoy your D800
