There's is few nicely priced Nikon primes for FF bodies. Anyone have experience with them?

Canon 50mm f1.4
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm F1.4G

Canon 85mm f1.8
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G

Canon 28mm f1.8
Nikon Ai AF Nikkor 28mm F2.8D

I dont know much about Nikon lenses... what are the good ones to have? The idea is to build an affordable low-light kit and to see if the D600 make more sens than the 6D.

Canon 6D | S35mm f1.4 | 135mm f2 The rest: T3i, 20D, 15mm f2.8, 15-85mm, 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 90mm f2.8 macro, 55-250mm.
So long and thanks for all the fish

You can do a load of side-by-side comparisons, here!
Starting with the 50mm G compared with the 50L :-)

The 50 1.4G sucked.. believe it or not, the 50 1.8G is better. I've owned both.
The 85 1.8G is a pretty good lens, but the 85 1.4G is the best.
The 28 2.8 Ai is an old manual focus lens. You want the 28 1.8G or the 35 1.8G (on DX).

Skill is very important but a fully charged battery is very very important

Nikon's G primes are newer and sharper than Canon's offerings, but you pay a premium for them of $100-250 more for the 28/50/85. The Canon 85mm 1.8 is a better value than the Nikon IMO - $140 cheaper and faster AF. On the other hand the Nikkors have a 5-year warranty vs 1 year on the Canons, although I think Canon's repair service is much much better. Ultimately I think it's a toss-up. I've decided to stick with Canon because there are a couple of high value lenses (17-40L, 135L) that make Canon more attractive to me.
