I got a chance to go out to the HSR races, at Road Atlanta this past weekend. Low turnout, but I still had a good time. These are my favorites from the event. Crits are more than welcome, and much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

#1: Love the old 993, this one made me think of birthday cake and ice cream with sprinkles.

#2: Shooting from outside the fence for the first time in years, I had to really find new shots, some of them will be used next time I am there to cover an event. It was good to refresh my memory of other parts of the track.

#3:Before he T-Boned the car behind him two laps later.

Nice shots! I was there for a few hours Saturday morning. Never seen the place so deserted.

Thanks! Yeah, we were there all day Saturday and it was very sparse to say the least...I only spotted one "pro" inside the fences...should have tried to get access...where were you set up Saturday morning?

I was driving around all over (black Dodge Ram 4x4 in case you saw me). Didn't stay in one spot for very long. Once nice thing about the lack of people was that it was quick & easy to get around and I could park almost anywhere. But I was dealing with some back pain and I thought I could work through it, but not so.

Tim, I don't remember seeing you then...I was tooling around in my RX-8 with a friend of mine...it was nice to have it be so open...but I had hoped for more crowds to try my hand at panning through the crowd shots...

Love the R8. That guy always comes out. Last time it was in a basic enclosed trailer towed behind an SUV. Awesome.

Solid set. I actually try to shoot spectator spots sometimes at RA since I have been there so many times.

He could not have been further from the trailer behind an SUV this time...he had a hauler with the side tents and a whole crew of people working on it...we chatted with one of the crew for a while about the car and the history of it...it was kinda cool.

It was fun shooting from those areas, but I missed being in my favorite spots.

He had that setup last year at NJMP. This R8 was a demo car though, correct? I wasn't able to talk to anybody to find out its history but tried to look online. Seeing that thing run in person is something else.

#6 must have grown up dirt trackin'

The last time I was at a HSR race it was double billed with a CCS motorcycle race at VIR. Only pros there were the Vendors.

#6 was a HUGE save...he turned in way too early with way too much speed, and was off track in a hurry...that was just one of maybe 8 images of the sequence...huge save, I have seen a lot of cars go off there and wind up meeting the concrete wall or tire barriers.

There were old vintage motorcycles there this past weekend, but not many, only one run group, and no one was really knee draggin', they were taking it pretty easy.
