I think its a wonderful camera at the new price point. I won't sell mine because I feel like its worth more than the market is offering for it atm.

Nonsense comments like these are pointless.

I personally would not buy a 5Dc now. Just because it is still capable of taking great pictures doesn't mean it is worth buying. By that logic everyone should just go buy an old film rangefinder.

You have to look at what you personally want and/or need from a camera and choose accordingly.

My point exactly. I'm interested in experimenting with FF but really don't wish to spend a couple thousand at this time. For me it would pair with my 60D, which I have no intention of getting rid of. I don't buy the latest and greatest simply because its available. I look for ways to expand without a huge investment and learn from it.

For what they selling $600-$700, 5dc is quite nice IMHO. Better than lot of newer cameras IMHO. So what it is old. It still can take lot better pictures than some of the newer gen cameras. If someone wants to test FF it is vey good option. Buy it, check it out, don't like sell it for less than $50-$100 loss. Personally you will end up liking it unless you mainly shoot action.

If the choice was 5d or 6d, I'd go with the 5d. Weak aa filter produces great images.

For me I had to make the decision between the 5D2 or 5D.

I could get a mint 5D2 for $1500 or a mint 5D for $800 (gripped with extra batteries). I planned on going 75% manual focus because I wanted to slow down my photography and take more time in my composition. This way I could afford more glass.

Better lenses over a better body. If you have to sacrifice on the quality of your lenses to afford the 6D, then no it's not worth it.

Bodies get replaced very often. People still use 50 year old lenses.

if anything, this new FF camera should drive crop cameras closer to extinction

Well I did it. I found a near mint 5Dc off CL near where I live. He was an older gentleman who used it for landscapes only. It has low clicks and was just serviced.

I like the old school feel of it. I shot for a long time with old manual cameras so I feel right at home! The biggest surprise for me is how much better my 85 1.8 performs on this body versus on my 60D.

Two from today.

I believe it doesn't matter which camera is worth or not. It's the glass and pic quality that matter to be creative. I have a Canon 30D and I haven't upgraded to newer models. It is my pride and joy.

Used to have 30d to shoot birds. Had the best glass 500mm f4 IS. Pictures will still ok.ok. Moved to 1dmk2 and suddendly picture quality went up way up. Maybe the AF but I think bigger sensor also. Same old me.

Try it with old 5dc and use same glass. You will have little different opinion.

Exactly what I'm finding Bobby. I have a 60D as well and when I bought the 85 1.8 I was never really wow'ed by the picture quality. It was never as sharp as I thought it could be and didn't seem to have the "pop" I was hoping for. But now on the 5Dc it's a completely different lens.
