Tonight I ordered PS CS2, finally. I bought a Wacom tablet, the Intuos3 6x8, in October. It came with Adobe Elements 3.0 and an upgrade to CS2 at a discount. After much I shouldn't... I should... I just did. Then I went over to Amazon and ordered several books on CS2.

Photoshop CS2 Classroom in a book is the only book you should buy on photoshop to start out with.

Well thanks to Scottes for helping me out getting a discounted copy of CS2. But after extensive use and not liking the Adobe Bridge or the RAW app. I decided against keeping it before the time limit expired. I feel kinda bad using Scottes help and not keeping the Software but $299 was just kinda steep since I find that 90% of my work flow is accomplished in RawShooter Premium and the remaining 10% can be taken care with PSE2 with various plug ins available.

CS2 is a fine program but way more than what I envision myself ever needing. Maybe one day but I just couldn't let go of the funds right now.

Ray, this is the software-tablet, that I use. Your gonna' love it. Unless you have experience with both, you may find "learning curve" a bit steep, but well worth it !!
Check out the tutorials at Wacoms site. Set the tablets buttons to "your" keyboard shortcut preferences and it will "knock" off a lot of time in PP. My current settings are:

HOSTED PHOTO DISPLAY FAILED: ATTACH id 45969 does not exist. ]

Don't forget "pen" pressure settings for each tool in CS2.
The ability to change brush size on the "fly" is great time saver, as are most settins on tablet.
And I can't play enough with:
CS2>filter>distort>Lens Correction
Have fun, I know I am, and maybe in a year or so, I can call myself "proficiant" with both !! LOL

Scott Keby's CS2 book has been invaluable to helping me learn it. I also have Classroom in a Book (thanks, Tom) but I am stupid enough to need the picture tutorials as well. I started out with plain old PS years ago but it still had a big learning curve..... I am still figuring it out as I go.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Ray,
FYI screenshots of the rest of my wacom settings.
Just my 2 cents, but I found these to be good starting point.

Delinian - thanks for those screen shots, I will set those up. So far I have not been using the express keys or strip, but I will start.
