Don't know much about computers so I'm seeking your input. My local Sam's Club is selling these two units, but I don't know which one's better for my photo editing (CS4 and LR 3), video editing (Pinnacle Ultimate 12) and of course the usual Internet and emailing and so on. No games. My top budget is $800. Thanks.

The first one. Video editing will use the extra cores in the i7, it has an nVidia video card which can sometimes help accelerate things, and it has a faster hard drive. You can always add more ram, and replace the disk with an SSD later if you really want to.

If you hadn't said video then I might've said get the i5, just because it's newer.

Of course a desktop will be even better. It may cost a little more, but it'd faster and more expandable.

Thanks, Tim. I do my editing on the run so I can't use a desktop, unfortunately.
