i wouldn't send both your sigmas in with the same box...if your 70-200OS takes weeks to repair, there's no sense in being out the 30mm as well...

you can try and register the lens online...if you have a date on the invoice slip, and it says amazon i'd think you might be alright

I'm working 7 days a week for the next 6 weeks so I'm not too worried about being out of my camera. I'll suffer.

It may. Do you still have contact info for the original owner? They may be willing to log into amazon and print a real invoice for you.

Yes, did deliver it monday 1 1/2 week ago at the sigma repair center, also delivered my 7d and 1.4x and 2x tc's for calibration with the 120-300

I'm really looking forward getting it back..

You can also say it was a gift and all you got was that invoice. It wouldnt hurt to try.

Called all 4 service centers sigma themselves and their other 3rd party people and only one place crjrepair.com said the packing slip would work as long as it has date, place bought, description and such which all does.

should I be concerned sending it into a 3rd party place?

As long as the 3rd party is a reputable location then I would have a problem sending it. Just google them and read any reviews on them and do an BBB search as well see if any complaints have been filed as well.

Well I'm home now and found the warranty card but it is filled out to the previous owner. Looks like I might be screwed

I've sent to sigma before, and never sent the warranty card, only invoice. Sent to CRJ, had terrible service, but the item was repaired.

Thanks for the heads up. I just got emailed back from the guy and he said he will send me the invoice... such an awesome guy to do so. A fellow POTN member! He really could've just said no so I'm very appreciative he is willing to do so.

Looks like I'll get that invoice and send it in by itself to the Sigma center in NY and pray for the best. Thanks everyone for the input and I will keep this thread updated when I get results. I've had to deal with Tamron warranty before on AF issue with my old lens and they were awesome but I was also the original owner.

Update:

They recieved my lens today "Wednesday Sept. 26th @ 10AM"

Lets see how long it takes to repair/receive.

Update:

Checked the status and it says "Pink slip printed" whatever that means. It also says item "S100" replaced OS qty. 1, shipped 1. and for dollar amount says 0.00 so I'm assuming they replaced it under warranty.
