It looks like Zeiss has announced a DSLR.
The sensor will have more MPs than the D800.
They expect to release in fall 2013.

That will make a significant difference. Bring your checkbook it isn't going to be cheap.

DavidArbogast Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 19, 2012 16:45 | #8 I'm sure this new line of Zeiss lenses will be exquisite. I love my Zeiss 2/25 too - it's the sharpest lens in my bag - but a no-compromises version would be as sharp in the corners as my 2/25 is in the center. At 4K per lens, I won't be filling up my bag with them, but I may have to buy just one. David | Flickr

Leica appears to have adopted the Wal-Mart slogan "Watch out for Falling Prices", 'cause their cool new M240 has a lower price than the M9! David | Flickr

So that they can release an "updated" Monochrom based on the new technology base once the M11 comes out, duh! Anyway. What is this thread!? lol

Shadowblade Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 20, 2012 06:47 | #12 With these new high-resolution lenses, Canon had better release a high-MP, high-DR camera soon, or they'll be the only ones left without a body to take advantage of the new lenses. Even Sony will likely put their 36MP sensor in a Sony body sooner rather than later...
