The current ZF lenses are already awesome on the D800. And now Zeiss is saying they can do even better? @$#! :shock:

The current crop of aps-c sensors are 24MP, so it's not really a stretch to say that 54MP full-frame sensors are in the works for the next generation. In a few years' time, 36MP will be 'low resolution'.

Also, eliminating distortions (e.g. 'moustache' distortion) would go a long way to improving the sharpness of the end result, since you'd no longer have to correct the distortions in post-processing and lose effective resolution that way.

now for those who prefer warm mushy pixels to work with I am sure you will find lots of company here. for the rest of us IQ matters. a lot.

Dang want this already... My D800e is en-route! Was going to get Zeiss Glass for it but may wait on the 50mm, will need the time to save lol

I can take away detail if i want to, on the other hand I cant create detail that wasnt captured...
