Bull Elk crossing a river

Walking through the local park I spotted a bull elk with a cow and a yearling trying to cross a small river. Its amazing how many of them come out of the woods during the rut!

Like the first shot, although I would have liked to have seen him turned toward you a bit.

This location reminds me of seeing elk standing in the river around Jasper.

Yeah it would have been good if he turned but he was fairly camera shy and something must have had his attention up stream as he would only turn an look that way. I'm about 4 hours from jasper so not too far off. I do want to go to jasper again now you reminded me of it :)

Agreed on wishing the first shot had more eye contact. The second one is great. Shows you don't need to be tight for good wildlife shots.
