I was just looking on Calumets UK site.

You can buy a 6D and 24-105 kit for ~£2500
And what is a 5dmk2 with the same lens? ~2100

And even though its an old model I would still take the 5dmk2 over the 6D...

Your opinions?

I'll reserve my judgement until after the shipment of the 6D.

How about waiting until the price of the 6d drops to £2100, then you can have the newer camera for the price you are prepared to pay at this moment :)

... beside, the 6d may prove to be the better value because ......

I would have thought Canon would have been wise to price the 6D under $2K. However, I was incorrect. I would absolutely take a 4 year old 5DII over the 6D. But that could also be because I'm completely in love with my 5DII too.

Wait to see full test report of 6D. Likely to be good in low light & af departments.

My opinion is that since the 5D2 was discontinued quite some time ago, vendors don't want to be stuck with a FF body now that Canon has come out with 3 new FF bodies, and are pricing those remaining left-over kits very cheaply.

Only time will tell how the 6D fares against the other FF bodies, once people get quality time with them. Is the 5D2 a great choice? Absolutely, but be sure you land the most absolute best deal you can if you buy one, because the value of the 5D2 has nowhere to go but down, and possibly quite quickly if the 6D is a major success.

Given the AF seems to work great on all points and that it is focusing in cave-like conditions, per this person's experience, the 6D will most likely be a huge success. ;)

I'd agree with the low light - but as far as the AF- not yet convinced... But am unlikely to step down to a 6D anyways..:D

I have the 5D2. Was intrigued by the 6D. Saw the specs and the price. Made decision: Do not want.

Sure from a 5d3 it's a step down. But from a t4i, the 6d is a step up.

I'd take the 6D over the 5DII any day if the reports on AF are accurate.

Don't forget the price will come down as well, just like the Nikon have done to the 600,
in the UK it's up for £1.799 body only think it may drop to something like the £1.400 mark, and if it dose then will be looking at getting 1 or 2.
