And that's mostly because D800 was announced just earlier and cheaper. Otherwise, I think 5D3 would have received a more favorable fanfare. Julian

It does amaze me at how many can make a decision before the first batch of products are shipped. There are only a handful of hand selected pics available and maybe another handful of posts from people that actually got to touch one but yet so many can proclaim that this is a piece of junk not worthy of being considered. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I'm thinking about adding a FF camera to add to to my 7D so for me the smaller size of the 6D, no joystick, general layout would give the edge to the 5D2. Plus the 5D2 has a higher synch speed and higher max shutter speed which I find nice. However the big if is how the new 11pt AF works in practice plus possible gains in dynamic range and noise performanace of the 6D over the 5D2. Canon 7D/350D, Σ17-50/2.8 OS, 18-55IS, 24-105/4 L IS, Σ30/1.4 EX, 50/1.8, C50/1.4, 55-250IS, 60/2.8, 70-200/4 L IS, 85/1.8, 100/2.8 IS L, 135/2 L 580EX II, 430EX II * 2, 270EX II.

If you want a new 5D2, get it now. The 5D2 was the gateway drug, sorry - camera, from APS-c to full-frame.
