Option 1:

And buy...

Another vote for the 24-70 II.

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

What do you shoot? It depends on that. You already have 40, 85 and 135. You could sell the 40 also and get the 24-70L II or buy the 16-35 ||, sell the 40 and get a 50mm 1.4 and still save yourself some money.

I already bought and sold a 16-35LII. Great lens but not my ideal FL.

I want a normal zoom.

If I go with a 24-70II now, my 5DII would remain in service for another 2 years. It currently has about 16K clicks on it.

Lights. hah!

is your Canon kit holding you back some way that the Nikon won't? Then there isn't a reason to go Nikon. Its a tool, just like everything you own, if it does something you want to yours to do, then go ahead!

Looking at your lens list, the 24-70mm or just a good wide prime would be a good addition to the bag.

I'd sell the pancake and the 85 and add the 24-70

just curious. what makes you want to switch to Nikon? I always entertain this idea myself but have never really found a good reason to do so. I'd go with option 1.

Not exactly sure what switching your whole system to the Nikon will do for you. I personally say +1 to the 24-105 and a Vacation, otherwise how about a 70-200 F2.8 IS II?

Lens, or a 6D for me. ;)

I'd hate to change systems, I just don't think it creates a better photographer or images in most cases. Whimsical decision at best...
