Not necessary, I bought a 12yo lens in perfect condition, why bother, a new lens can be with problems also.

The date code removes some of those from consideration...

I would skip the UV filter -- you can read about the pros/cons of protective filters here

As for the circular polarizer, I am not familiar with that brand. You can read about CPL filters in the filter FAQ thread
