B&H has just dropped the price of the t3i body to $549. This is nearly what they sell for used on Ebay.

I just bought one from B&H.

Since the T4i is out, it is probably an effort to get rid of them, especially before the holiday buying season. I suspect they will still make money at $549 (body only).

Well I elected the t3i over the t4i because of two things in particular. I am not interested in video, and the 4 has added video features. I was also not interested in a touch screen, mainly because I don't want the newest gimmick that may also be subject to failures. It is new for Canon.

This plus the approx $250 premium price of the 4 over the 3.

It's about time.... The T4i is way over-priced in my opinion. Of course after it's been out a year and the T5i is on the table, the prices will drop on that as well.

I bought my T2i brand new when it first came out, and since then, have decided (IMO) all Rebels are overpriced when first released. Of course, most cameras are at first. Look at the 5d3 coming in at under $3k now. The T3i is "right priced" now. At release it was too high. Of course, I could be biased towards the T3i price since I got a 60d for $640 thru CLP... :)

You can get a T2i for under $400 if you're a bit patient on ebay.
