5D Mark II Live View AF Problem

When I use AF in Live View, I lose the white focus box as soon as I press the 5x-10x magnification button. When I press the AF-On button to focus, the mirror flips down and the camera focuses by using one of the red AF points. The mirror stays down until I release the AF-On button. This just started happening and I can't figure out how to get my white focusing box that turns green when the camera attains focus. I've been using Live View for over a year and never ran into this before.

Another interesting thing that just started today that might tie into this is that when I review my pics on the LCD the red AF point is being displayed during the review.

Can anyone help me out. My fall foliage photography season is just starting and I don't want to give up my live view. Thanks in advance.

It's one of the settings in the LV options. You have quick-AF (or something similar) turned on. There is this, face detect and regular contrast detect.
