there are a lot of background distractions, e.g. orange cones and parking lot. the rest of the set seems to be a mix of PP styles, I think they should follow a general style otherwise it seems like presets were just applied randomly.

I looked at the whole set and I'm sorry my friend but these all look very amateurish to me. The backgrounds in all of the photos is very busy, has lots of detail and as such is really distracting. You needed to be at a wider aperture to isolate these folks from whats behind them. Most of the shots, especially the big groups are too far away, I can't see their faces. Some of them the have dappled shadows across their faces.

As mentioned above the orange parking markers behind them....that's really inexcusable.

You use the term client so I assume they're paying you. Honestly I mean no offense to you but I would offer them at no charge or at least a greatly reduced rate. Weddings are not an easy shoot in that you have only one chance.

Again, I don't mean to sound harsh.

I don't think they are that bad.

I would do the following before handing them over though:
Straighten your horizons.
Remove the orange road cones in the back of some of the shots.

Be a little more consistent with your processing:
Most of the shots appear to be bright colour with lots of saturation and vibrance, but there are a couple that are more subdued. These need to be punched up to match.
Most of the black and whites are high contrast with crushed blacks, but there are a couple that look a bit flat in comparison, these need to be crushed to match.

I agree with Moppie and would add that you should check your whites and try to avoid blowing them out in processing as in #2.

Just to be clear I'm not a wedding phoographer, most of what I do is senior and portrait work, these were shot at mid day with them choosing the location.

I tried to talk them into an earlier or latter session but they were set on the time, usually I take a couple of hours per session these were shot in about 45 minutes whilst the every one was complaint about it being so hot

I'm not trying to make excuses I know tis set is a little weak, best way to learn is to take crtisisum and make changes.

Thanks for the input

Just did some quick prints to my local sams to see how they look on print, the black and white conversion is all over the place, a couple of them look real sweet others lose stuff in the shadows and highlights.

Again thanks for any input

I agree with the horizon. Something seems to be off. I would have used whole building as background on the first one with fill flash. B&W doesn't do anything for me. If you use LR you should play around with preset. There are some great ones available for free. You have some stronger ones in Smugmug that I like. Like to see some pics with wider aperture. To me that gives focus and eliminate lot of background noise. Wouldn't pay attention to folks telling you how to run your business. Thread was for critiquing your posted pics.

don't ever base your opinion on a print from quick lab where the staff has had an hour of training and barely makes minimum wage..and they recycle there chemicals

So if God made Man & Woman....whats his excuse for Nikon...

Hi. Coming from the UK we don't usually have to deal with heat and strong sunlight! I do think the choice of location, the dappled tree shade (presumably the only spot there was?) and the angle of the background don't do the pics justice. I don't really like the b/w conversions, the contrast seems a bit too strong.

The guy on the right in the B&W doesn't look right at all, looks like its a painted face and doesn't match the other 2 people - otherwise it looks ok.
