Oh, believe me, you did! It's a stellar performer. You'll never be sorry you bought it. What do you shoot primarily?

Great choice. Lots of people bought that lens this Christmas. You won't be disappointed.

Anything low light it can work well as a 110mm f/1.8 lens(taking the 1.3 crop factor into place).

Great with portraits of course and a lot of sports people use it, because of low light capabilities and fast AF.

You should be happy with it.

It's great for gymnasium sports. Very fast and sharp, though you might want to stop it down to 2.0 or 2.2 until you get used to the razor sharpness of shooting wide open. I've used it throughout the volleyball and basketball seasons this year. It's also marvelous for portraits. If you use it at 1.8, it produces wonderful background blur. I think it's the best lens I've purchased to date.

I use this lens indoors in poorly light gymnasiums. I use it with excellent results without flash. The AF is also lightening quick. You just cannot go wrong with this lens.

It's my favorite portrait lens. Also great for HS basketball, volleyball (indoors), cheerleading, etc.
You'll love it. Fast and sharp.

Ron, as someone who is deciding on which of these two lens to possibly buy, why would you say that you prefer the 85mm?.
