First time shooting Football (kids)

My buddy asked me to come out and grab a few shots of his son's Football game. I wasn't sure which lens to use as this was my first time shooting football. I ended up with the 70-200II+1.4 on the 1D mkIV. First time I have tried them together, they seemed to get along well. Although the IS motor was making more noise than normal.
