The business of photography......

For those of you now running a successful business (and by successful business, I mean making a net profit...hopefully enough to survive on).....what have you learned vs. what you envisioned before entering the field. How have your expectations (previous to making it a business) differed from reality?

I've learnt.....you don't learn a lot on message boards.

It's like receiving a mass email on the new latest greatest stock. By the time you get it, everyone else has already bought in.

I've learned that most photographers that are actually making a living at photography are spending 60-100 hours a week working on their business.
