I think the OP is confusing Exposure Bracketing (a series of exposures taken automatically at different exposure values) with Exposure Compensation (moving the exposure value by a fixed amount in each shot). My 300D definatly allows EB and I think my 20D does as well in manual mode, but I have yet to try it. In manual on the 300D it also changes the Shutter Speed not the aperture, to keep the DoF constant, so it won't work with my studio flash set up when I want a quick way to chimp some values.
I guess this in relationship with what they seem to be trying to achive in their explanation.
