Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but hoepfully someone here on POTN can help me out.

So both my DSLR's shoot video, I however know nothing about video whats so ever.

I just shot a few short clips I want to post up on Yotube, only for sharing with friends and family, and I am just curious do I upload them as is?? Or do I need/Should I be converting the video to another format/size??

I only ask because I have only uploaded 1 video from my cell phone, which took about 20 minutes and was 45 seconds long. So I am thinking a 2 minute clip from my 5DmkII would take 2 hours more or less.

Does everyone who uploads video from there DSLR just have to wait that long or do you convert the video to make it smaller in size without lossing the quality of the image??

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

P.S. I have CS6 which edits video if that helps anyone help me easier.

I'd say 720p is more then enough for that. No need to export highest quality.

Might help. Otherwise, have a look at the variety of options for compressions used.
