Yes. I'm buying ready cut mounts, backing boards and frames, then adding the print*. I paper tape the reverse after assembly and add a 3" square paper with the title, my web site and email address. I can do it in 10 minutes while watching TV.

*Note: I have been using paper tape to "hang the print from the backing card, but now use spray glue the secure the two together. I found that in the wrong light it was not lying totally flat but its now fine.

easy for you to say :)

make a youtube video so we can all benefit :)

I'm more than covering my costs. I'm making around 118% clear profit. Believe me, that £16 cost covers everything. Yes, I've had to be careful sourcing frames, mounts etc, because it can very easily cost twice or even three times as much. The pub I am exhibiting in is local to me so my only delivery cost is shoe leather.

I cant buy a real wood frame with glass & decent matting for that cheap (around $25us for that size)...even from China distributors...and I get $160+ for my framed 16x20's, so I have to be cognizant of the quality of the product I am using. When the price goes up, so to do the expectations of quality...;)

When it ceases to be fun, it will be time to walk away

I know what you mean, it took me a while to find the best deals and I lucked into a large pack of cut mounts for a fraction of the normal cost due to a cancelled order. I don't believe what I use is inferior in any way, but thats up to the buyer to decide at the end of the day. Its amazing how much the same product can differ in price between different suppliers.

I'd love to be able to charge more, but experience has shown me that I understand my local market. Which is primarily tourist driven, so my displayed images are all local stuff.

I have a friend who sells his motorsports images in several local markets and we often compare notes about the right price to sell at, in fact we help each other out often. His images are not framed, but he does offer stretched canvases as well as paper prints and treats it much more seriously than I do as its his main income. But his prices, while slightly higher because he has higher overheads, are not miles away from mine.

As are mine, my prices didnt start out that high, I have slowly moved them up over time. And tourist tend to be willing to pay more than do the locals, since locals generally arent going to pay for a photo of something they may see everyday...;)
