Hey, All

This is a copy of a Facebook post I just made, you can PM me with questions or an "offer":

Hey, Facebook Friends!

As some of you know, I'm in the middle of a "life crisis"! I can no longer afford to live in the nice apartment I've lived in for the past six years.

Well, besides the trauma of just the thought of moving out of my home of six years, I'm also facing what is to me a major challenge, the need to sell of the majority of my furniture that I got new to fill this place with when I first moved in. I'm looking at just renting a room, a spare room, and with no place to put my furniture.

So, in discussing this with the apartment manager today, she graciously offered a couple spots where I/they could post flyers, with the idea that other residents who need/want furniture could call me and come and look, hopefully make a decent offer!

Well, despite the fact that I've been working with computers for, gosh, the past 25-30 years, I have no "graphics arts" skills, so I draw a blank when it comes to putting together a flyer!

So, I'm asking you, my friends, for a bit of help! If you know of, say, a "Photoshop Template", I mean the "Standard" Photoshop editor (I don't have Illustrator or any other graphics program aside from Windows Paint), well let me know! Or, if you think you could quickly toss something together, let me know, give me a (hopefully) reasonable estimate, and I could get you the info. I have a lot of items "on the block", too many to clutter a flyer with photos of them all, although I have one photo of my full-size sofa here on Facebook...

After that, then I'd email this lady the flyer and she'd print it and post it...

And then, unless I get "swarmed", the next step will be to post a "moving sail" ad on Craig's list, I just wanted to give the residents here the "first opportunity!

FYI, I have 'till the end of October to be out of here (I have to pay the October rent of $1250 at any rate).

Hi Tony:
Just a suggestion. I hope you have MS Word - type a list of the items (with a line of description) available for sale. You can illustrate it with a small picture (use the Insert Picture command).
At the end of each page, provide contact information, 'business' hours to call/preview, etc.

A flyer won't have enough pages for the average content sale (in my thinking) and once itemized and put in groups (bedroom items, living room items, etc.) it's easy for the prospective buyer(s) to pick out their purchase(s). Word can very well do this for you.

My 2c.
Paul

Paul, thanks for the input!

I'll have to check with the Apt. management whether the flyer could have more than one page. On a single page I may just put the one pic of my sofa.

The list of all the items is doable for sure. I guess I'm mainly hoping for feedback as far as making look good graphicall!

That's it. I would use a graphical flyer to promote an item or two, but for multiple items one has to produce a catalog/mini catalog ... And that takes too long to produce.
With a list, make sure that the font is easy to read and is easy on the eyes.

if you're just trying to get rid of stuff, taking pictures, putting them on photobucket, and putting a spreadsheet together would be more efficient use of your time.
