I don't shoot from a blind, rather walk the trails. I really take my time with all birds but especially the warblers. When I come across them, I stop, wait, and observe. They usually will work a tree or hedge-line and actually (for me) get a little predictable. I always shoot from a tripod and because they drift from sun to shade so quickly, I set the camera up for one or the other. Which? Depends on what I'm seeing. I'm just not quick enough to go from one setting to the other, so I choose. If they are packed in to the brush I may use flash to get some fill light. (make sure you use a bracket to get the flash off camera, or you'll be fixing the eyes in post) Good luck, I enjoy shooting the fall migrants as there are so many first year birds it gets confusing trying to figure out what they are. All part of the fun! Hope this helps, and good luck to you. If you have any more questions, hit me up anytime! Thanks for that, it does help, if nothing to confirm that great shots can be had from simply walking the trails. This spring was the first time I got out trying to shoot warblers (and view them) while walking through a local provincial park not far from my home city - I was stunned at the variety of birds, most of which I had never seen before. They do move quickly and in and out of brush/shadows - difficult to obtain an unobstructed shot, even hand held with the 400 5.6. Thanks again. 7D, 6D, 24-105L, 100 2.8, 400 5.6 L
