I have tried to download the free trial to no avail.
I saw where it said to disable pop up blocker and did that.
Also disabled antivirus.

Searched google and some answers were to use another browser like firefox.

Really?

Is it that much of a problem??

Hit the yellow download button and nothing.
I have LR 3.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I've never had a problem downloading an Adobe trials? What browser are you using? Did you actually try using Firefox or are you just dismissing the idea of having to use a different browser?

I am not too happy to have to download a browser to download an Adobe trial.
Windows 7 and Internet Explorer.

It shouldn't be a problem with Internet Explorer, but the trouble is that systems can have problems, who knows what the "root cause" is, you either try different approaches, search Google until you find someone who has found a working solution, check the Adobe Lightroom Community Forum or the forum administered by LightroomQueen (Victoria Bampton), check with Microsoft, or throw up your hands in frustration and give up!

It comes down to how much you want it. You've been given a potential solution. You could wait for some "fix" for Internet Explorer (if that is the root cause), but I wouldn't hold your breath.
