This is a 15 second exposure.. down to F11 or something.

It WORKS, I think... but would it have been better as an HDR image? Any other ideas?

Interesting.. It shows for me. It's a Picasa image. I wonder if I can see it only because I'm logged in to Google...

I'll look into it.

Image shows up fine for me. It looks good. I almost want to say crop a little off the bottom but I don't know how that would affect it because the water cast is nice. People more landscape savvy may have better input.

Part of my issue is that I sometimes go for style over substance.. I appreciate the comment, tmoore.

I wonder if cropping it to only the horizon would make it more interesting. (like, to focus on the geometry of it?)

Maybe also try the red towers, bridges and the boats isolated too.

A bit underexposed IMO. HDR would not work that well here. I don't know what your EXIF is but I would go for a longer exposure (perhaps a minute or longer) to smooth out the water and provide better reflections. I like the star bursts. In fact I would crop it tighter to help emphasize them more (perhaps crop out the left side of this comp).

Interesting shot but underexposed. I raised the exposure +90 in LR4.1. Also bumped Shadows slider to +100 and liked it a lot better.

You might try shooting earlier in the evening before the sky goes completely black.
