I recently updated EOS Utility to the latest version (2.11 for Windows 7). Now, whenever I use it to download pix from my camera I get an "Unexpected Error" message for EVERY picture that I download. I am also having difficulty with Lightroom recognizing that there pictures on the camera when I try to download. I have the camera connected with a USB Cable. Anyone else experiencing this? It's very frustrating. Oh - I have a 40D with the updated firmware (from a few years ago).

Thanx, Jim

Me too, it's been happening since last sunday!
Weird, I got my Canon 5D mkII connected with a usb cable, and when I open I get a error message on my iMac.....

**** happens.

So I end up uploading them with Lightroom, get it if you don't have it.It's free for 30 days.
Until someone fixes those drivers!

It's curious that it just started happening. I wonder if it has anything to do wth connecting the camera to my iPad and dwonloading pix to it. It almost seems thats about when it started happening. Doesn't make sense, but you never know...

BTW, I have Lightroom. I had some problems with that too, but then I plugged into a different USB and it worked. Still have the error with the EOS Utility though.

I recently tried connecting an XSi to my PC running the latest version of EOS Utility and it wouldn't recognize the camera.
I then connected it to an older version that was running on an old XP laptop and it was fine. I upgraded that version to the latest and it stopped working again.
I removed all the latest versions of the Canon software from that old XP laptop and re-installed the old software that came with the XSi and it recognize it again .. strange.

This is why I recommend using card readers.

I think I'm going to get a flash card reader, does'nt hurt to give it a try.
Really curious that no one else has that problem, well 2 is better than one.
I'm going to check it deeper

I use v 2.11.4.0 in Windows 7 and have not had an issue, but then its not a recent upload. Maybe try uploading it again?

Same here. Works as expected. I suggest: uninstall, re-boot and re-install.

Agreed. And the RE-BOOT part is essential before re-installing.
