Remember when Las Vegas had $2.99 buffets? - Now that's what a bottle of water costs there.. Remember when they had free lounge shows - Top name entertainment such as Louie Prima with Sam Butera and the Witnesses - (Richie Varola - one of the hottest organ players of all time!!) .... Does anyone else feel as old as I feel right now ??

Oh, and to keep this photography related, I took this picture out of my back door ..... Poor finch is taking a beating !!!

The last time I was in Vegas they still had them at the Tropican and a couple of the other
Casino's. But that was in 1990. I haven't been back since. Now, all they care about is seeing
how much money they can drain out of you, before they kick you out the door. When I was in
Reno, in 2001 it still felt a bit like the old Vegas, but I'm sure they have fixed that by now as
well :-(

I live in Sin City, and never really liked buffets. The high-end ones are too expensive, and the rest suck. I'd rather go to a regular restaurant. And I usually avoid the strip at all costs, unless we have out-of-town company who insist.

The strip used to be a nicer, cleaner place, without the riff-raff and bums... and the buffets were better.

Obviously, memory being the second thing to go, you have my sympathy.

I'm older, and I remember cheap Vegas buffets. And when Circus Circus was the only family-friendly casino.

I also remember under-a-dollar gas and cars without seat belts. Come to think of it, I remember under-50¢-a-gallon gas. That was for regular, of course, ethyl cost a bit more.

Or as the sign said back in the '30s: "4 Gals for a Dollar! May We Suggest Ethyl?"

I've never been much into partying to oblivion. If you can't remember what you did, how do you know you had a good time.

Besides, it's no fun waking up in jail and not knowing why.

Heptane and octane are completely organic! Ask any chemist!
