I actually like the fuji 35mm f1.4 more myself, because I really love isolating subjects when I shoot. But the focusing on the 35mm feels just as fast as a Canon 50mm 1.8 lens (Nifty Fifty). Best used when subjects aren't moving (as much), where as the 18-55 for some of those photos, I actually set it to 18-24mm and tried to zone focus those shots.

For the IQ I haven't really tested it against each other out, but so far I am impressed with both lenses. Lastly, the zoom ring feels a bit stiff but that will take some getting used to.

18-55 is the better value because of what it can do, and I think it replaces both the 18mm and 35mm.
35 is mainly for people who enjoy shooting wide open shots 95% of the time

Taken this past Sunday, on the X-E1 + 18-55mm lens. + Friend's off camera (Metz) flash triggered with a Cactus V5.

I wanted to use the pop up flash from the X-E1 which is good, but having the flash off camera is better! I need to buy a cheapo speedlite again.

^ Nice job! I'm still using the Yongnuo 460II's I bought 3 years ago and they work great. This is a shot of a client's SL55 AMG from last weekend. Actually this was a re-edit. Frustrating situation but basically I used a CPL like I always do on car shoots to get rid of reflections (there's a lot downtown) but unfortunately for the type of paint he used, it basically caused it to look flat.

He was a little turned off by this so I went back and re edited the same shot for a little more punch and gloss in the paint. I'm not a big HDR fan but I was shooting +/- 1 bracketed shots to compensate for the pitch dark wheels so I thought I'd throw it into photomatix and mess with it a bit and liked the outcome. On a side note, I ordered my X100s 2 weeks ago and I'm getting the itch. Come on BH... please send it to me NAO!!!

I really love the result man. I think it's print worthy!

This one is an old photo I took but then someone did a re edit on it and added text and cropped my stupid watermark (which I need to redo soon). But I actually love result that they did, that I asked them to do the same on the origiional image because I want to print it large (maybe a metal print like some of your photos Chris). Depends on how much I can spend.
