If you were a wedding shooter 6D or 5DMKII ? If the 6D has faster focus and better dynamic rage that could sway me.

If you are looking for a sports camera and the AF tracking sucks...then the one feature breaks it for that use. If you are looking for a landscape camera and images have noise at low ISO, then that one feature breaks it for that use. Isn't that exactly what I said? What makes or breaks a camera is how it works for each specific user. scorpio_e wrote in post #15055478 If you were a wedding shooter 6D or 5DMKII ? Then there is the $500 extra...will this translate into better landscape or portrait photos. From where I am sitting...NO. That will depend entirely on the actual quality of the 6D's sensor. If the usable dynamic range is substantially better (which is to say, if Canon has figured out how to eliminate low-ISO pattern noise in the deep shadows and has implemented that solution in the 6D's sensor) then the 6D will be a better landscaping camera. But there's no way to know whether or not that's going to be the case until the 6D actually starts shipping. Given Canon's track record thus far, that's likely to be a couple of months into next year... ![]() And also given their track record with sensors, I am not holding my breath regarding improvements in DR. After all their flagship cameras did not improve on this.

At the very least, I fully expect the 6D to not exhibit the mazing pattern at low ISOs that the 5D2 does. It'll probably still exhibit banding, but that's much easier to deal with. Which is funny because I believe the d800 and d600 sensors are the same size as the 6d or at least the .1mm smaller or whatever that is preventing you from being interested in the 6d and those 2 cameras technical beat down the 5dii and 6d...... Everything is relative.

It is 0.1mm smaller in length and height, but the pixels are bigger (which is one of the main the points of a FF sensor; bigger pixels) -Tom
