Canon 5D Mark III

Looking for a 5D Mark III for < 3K from a reliable source, missed the Adorama sale.

Price will be coming down and you will see another sub 3K sale.

i was one of the lucky ones on the Adorama Ebay sale.

here's what I think happened. Timing of it is key. End of Q3. Ebay subsidizes the sales by paying difference in bottom price to Adorama. Beach runs special deals all the time through Ebay as well. But they won't honor price if you order directly. Same thing happened on Adorama deal.

Ebay needs to boost rev numbers so they subsidize sales on their site. Sales go to rev number, subsidize goes to marketing expense. Inflates Ebay's number for earnings reports, Adorama gets their rock bottom price, lucky few customers get a great deal.

Will it happen again, sure. Just need to have good timing. But I don't think you'll see sub $3000 as a common rule for a long time. Just use canon watch to notify you on price drops and act quickly.

Keep an eye on Beach Camera on eBay - they've had some really good deals before. 5D3 Body for $2700 or $2800, and a kit deal with a 5D3, 24-105, 600EX-RT, BG-E11, and 64BG SD card for $4250 or $4300. I'm sure they'll run similar deals in the future - good luck!

Never hurts to offer $2800. If enough people try at different price points then we'll know what the real asking price is.

Just sold my 60D, now I'm on the same boat as you.

I would but the tax kills it for me. I might as well just order from my employer after discount for that price. I hope Beach Camera comes back with their deals.

Check craigslist. Mine is swamped with 5D3s for $2800-2900. I'm sure if you ask for a receipt with their info blacked out at least a few would be happy to oblige.
