How do you sell your old DSLRs or lenses? E-bay? Amazon? Craigslist? I have lots of gear I need to unload, craigslist has been nothing but disappointing so far (lots of spam).

How about on this forum? I've also bought and sold FredMiranda.com, but they charge an annual fee to sell equipment.

Canon 7D, 5D, 35L, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.8, 135L, 200L, 10-22, 17-55, 70-300, 100-400L, 500D, 580EX(2).
Sigma 150 macro, 1.4X, 2X, Quantaray 2X, Kenko closeup tubes, Yongnuo YN685(3), Yongnuo YN-622C-TX. Lots of studio stuff.

I've done well on craigslist. I'm not a big fan of remote sales for that sort of valuable item. Just use some common sense, just put something in the ad asking for a bit of information that only a local would know, and be safe about where you meet.

I've bought and sold a ton of things on the forum here. Nothing but good experiences as a buyer and a seller. Maybe I'll want something you have... ;) I haven't had great luck with craigslist.

I've had good luck both here, and on Craigslist. The downside to Craigslist is dealing with the flakes, but you get used to it.

I prefer to buy and sell through the forums I visit regularly, rather than dealing with the flakes and creeps that seem to be the norm on Craigslist. This has always been my approach with my other gear-heavy hobby (music) and has worked out well for me. I bought a lens from a user here and had a very good transaction.

On the other hand, I've been trying to sell my 15-85 and 60 on this forum for a month without any interest and may need to resort to Feebay . . .

you'll have to wait a couple of weeks...you have to be a member for at least 30 days before you can post in the for sale section

you're over-priced...15-85 for $575, when someone can buy it refurbished direct from canon for $512, and the 60mm for $320, when they can get it from canon again refurbished for $300...

you could probably get those prices on ebay, or craigslist...but most around here can figure out where to shop, and get the better prices...

I've done well on ebay, craigslist and forums. I don't use ebay any more because of too many scammers and the use of paypal. Way too many horror stories with paypal. You get a lot of Nigerian scammers on craigslist, but just ignore them. Only talk to people in your area that you can meet in person.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

As far as pricing is concerned its amazing how things will languish if priced too high. Price it right, both here and Craigslist, and it will sell fast.

I would start by listing them here. Then what does not sell, move to ebay. Or donate to your local school and write off of your taxes. :)
