Every single picture I've seen with this lens on no matter what camera, 7D to 5D to 1D the photos are just amazing in sharpness.... extremely clear. Is this lens the sharpest canon has because it sure does seem like it to me.

I am 99% sure though the lens was out of wack though or something, but it just was not sharp as expected. My 70-200 II was sharper cropped in than the 300mm was by itself.

In my experience those are the sharpest lenses I've shot with Canon 1DX, 1D IV, 50mm 1.2, 24-70 2.8, 85mm 1.8, 400mm 2.8 IS, 24-105, 70-200 2.8 IS, 1.4TCII, 2xTCII
