Any way to correct halation in post?

I dont actually believe there is an easy way to do this except mixing sharpening and contrast boost but maybe I am missing a great tool somewhere.

I was planning to get the 50mm f1.4. Not too happy about the old design of this lens but what worry me more is the heavy halation at f1.4. Anyone got experience correcting this?

I no longer have the 50 1.4, but didn't notice a lot of halation at f/1.4.

Well, maybe you got a good sample because this issue is well documented. However it does not appear on all photos. Some samples suffer from it more than others.

If it's a big issue to you, why not get another 50mm?
Maybe you'd like the Sigma 50/1.4 better…

The Sigma IQ is indeed better but it's rather huge and heavy. I was hoping for a small prime like Canon and Nikon produce.

I didn't use the 50mm f1.4 yet... maybe it's not so bad...

Can you post an example of your issue? Are you describing blooming of highlights past their borders? Here is an interesting tidbit about halation, from an artistic perspective:
