I would really appreciate constructive criticism on these. Brittany is my second senior I have shot, and I have 4 more lined up this year, so I can really use the advice! Thank you so much for the feedback!

All shot with 5D2, 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.8, and fill flash bounced off a reflector if needed.

Honestly they all look a bit soft, but I'm guessing thats a webhosting issue. In #2 you need to decide whats important. She takes up a small part of the frame. I get that you were going for an environmental portrait look, but she is small and facing out of the frame. All the points of interest are behind or above her. Try to better integrate her into the scene.

in # 3 you need to crop differently. You have too much dead space off to the right. Try using the rule of thirds to get her upper body about a third of way in and her legs about a third of the way up the frame. That would put her head, hips, and feet at the intersection points.

Perhaps its my monitor, but she looks a little bit orange in the face to me as well.

Not bad, but you can do better with a bit more attention.

gonzogolf,

Thanks so much for the advice! The softness is a webhosting issue, they are tack sharp :) I'm a pixel peeper...

I think we'll toss #2, we have several more close-ups. I can easily crop #3, excellent suggestion! It's not your monitor, she was lit by sunset in that one, I need to pull the saturation down a bit. Thanks for noticing!

Thanks again for the help! I can always come here for some real and valuable advice!

Good tips already given. I'd add to try to mix up her expression a bit for some more variety. The smile looks the same in every shot.

1 - Looks a bit out of focus. Color a bit too warm. Not the best/most flattering pose here. Cropped right about the knee, which isn't so great. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop would be good. Would like to see a bit more light in the eyes or catchlights.

2 - Seems warm again, out of focus. The lamp isn't straight. I don't like the fence which leads your eye away from the subject and out of the frame. Subject is too small for my tastes. I do like that you were trying to show all of the lamp posts which are interesting, but then the background is not as interesting so it's kind of a trade off.

3 - Not bad, looks like focus was just off, slightly more in front of the eyes.

4 - Bit of a distracting background and again focus seems off the eyes.
