Sell 85 1.8 + Raynox M250 for a 100 2.8L Macro for portraits + macro ?

I have a 85 1.8 and a Raynox M250 Macro lens.
Would it be interesting to sell both and buy a 100 2.8 USM Macro for macro + portraits ?

Or save further for a 100 2.8L IS (which is alot more expensive)

Don't bother with the L unless you really, really need IS.

The 100 is a bit slower than the 85, is much larger, MUCH heavier and due to the close focus ability, a much longer focus throw, which will appear as slower AF. It is also tack sharp wide open and produces EXCELLENT IQ without any of the 85's trademark purple fringing.

Another option you may want to consider is trading or selling the 85 and buying an EF 100 f2 instead, which is nearly identical in size and weight to the 85 and is also great for portraits.

If you want to get into serious macro, then I would go for the EF 100 f2.8. If portraits are more your thing and you like the extra working distance, the EF 100 f2 would be the way to go.
