JeffreyG "my bits and pieces are all hard" More info | Sep 27, 2012 19:19 | #4 I do believe the OP is concerned about the bright band at the very top of the frame, not the vignette. I do think there is a problem. There is obviously nothing from the lens that will make that bright band across the top. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/

A shutter problem would show regardless of the lens being used though; unless there's something at play there that I'm not familiar with. - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife

So, this bright band is actually on the bottom of the sensor.. I have seen similar things from the mirror not being out of the way...but that would show the line on the bottom(since the mirror is on top).. I thought a shutter would show black/dark bands, not bright, right? very strange indeed... Shutter bounce usually has white band - light leak. My 1ds2 had it too. It's a bummer that it happens on a 4 weeks old camera with shutter rated to 400k but sh1t happens
