First time, CC would help a bunch. I'm booked for the next couple weeks with sessions so anything would help.

Those are all really nice. She should be happy with them.

The only comment I have is that in each one she has the exact same expression and her face is straight on to the camera. A little more variety might be nice.

But these are great shots.

She has a wonderful smile even if it is all the same on each photo. The last one is my favorite.

I think these are really great. I think she, and your other clients you have lined up, will be quite happy.

Just a couple of quick thoughts that I hope will only just add to these. I agree with the others about the same smile in each pic. Have the subject do some with a straight or "serious" face. Many of these will end up being keepers as well. Even if you don't get many, though, just having the subject change facial expressions for different shots will break them out of the habit of just popping the same smile for each shot. You will be surprised how much the smiles differ when you throw different facial expressions in between.

Also, for girls, get some where she is looking up slightly at the camera with no smile (if you have a daughter, it's that look that immediately follows after she says, daddy, can I have ___? pleaaaaase?). It helps their eyes look a little larger and rounder, and is a good way to get some "no smile" shots that they are usually quite happy with.

Finally, I haven't seen your whole shoot with this client of course, but of these pics, at least, they all tend to be fairly wide to very wide/full body shots. Don't be afraid to get in really close, something like this: http://treylawrencephotography.zenfolio.com …23312/h41dff4f0#h41dff4f0 (external link) I have found that the parents (who are paying the bill) really tend to like the real closeups of their "baby."

I hope these comments help. You should be extremely happy with the shots you posted though!

I know, we're taking more soon. Since I'm friends with all of the clients I'm just $100 for photos in the fall, winter, spring, and next summer also. Is that considered a good deal? hahah.

Does that mean you charge "$100 all-year-round"? Or you mean $100 will get you a total of 4 shoots - one for each season?

These are so cute, and I love the processing on them! And, I do love her smile!

Just two things struck me though - since you asked for C&C.
#1 Maybe it's a personal thing - and I'm seeing it more lately, is the crotch shots (sorry, don't know how else to say it) if I were a mum, I would not like that one. I always make a point to not do that, but that's just my opinion.

#2 the bush looks too oversharpened/defined, and maybe it's a bit distracting - that can be toned down in processing.

Keep up!

Watch your backgrounds. You have some very bright backgrounds that distract from the girl. It's ideal to have your subject be the brightest part of your photo. Also direct the girl more as she has the same exact facial expression in every photo. And she is looking straight at the camera in every photo which for portraits is not ideal. Do a bit of reading up on portraiture.

Upon looking more, the photo where she's in front of the fountain is one to discard. There's no reason for that to be in the background. She is the subject and with that large stone/concrete fountain right in the middle of the photo fights for attention even though it is out of acceptable focus. The best photos have simple elements, i.e. not a background that is "busy" or has objects that can be discerned.

Funny you'd say that about the fountain one with it being her favorite out of all of them. Opinopns just differ from person to person!
