Well my Christmas bonus was a lot more than I expected, so I just placed an order with B&H for the EF 85mm f/1.8 and the Sigma 150mm Macro.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THEM! I'll post some pictures once I get them.

I won't have much use for my nifty fifty anymore, so I'll probably end up selling that. I'll have that focal range covered by my tamron, and if I want a fast/portrait lens, I'll have the new 85.

congrats on soem great gear! while i see what you mean, I dont' think it's really worth it to sell the 50, and that extra stop could come in handy one day when you need a shorter focal length than your 85.

Congrats. Both lenses will keep you smiling for quite some time! I can only hope that my end of the year "bonus" is as nice!

You should really keep that nifty fifty, you never know when you might need it... especially since you won't get much money for it.

I think he was referring to the 50 vs. the Tamron 28-75 at 50.

Ah well, I already sold the nifty fifty.

I guess that gives me an excuse to get the 50mm f/1.4 if I need it down the road. ;)

Okay, I just got my package when I came home from work today. :)
I've only played with the Sigma so far, and I have to say I'm very impressed. This lens was packaged in a soft padded lens case. The build quality is top notch. Even the tripod collar is sturdy and confidence-inspiring.

I don't have any lighting yet, so here's all I have so far.
