Hi these are all taken from the Britcar Endurance Championship Silverstone 24hr race 21 - 23/09/2012. I had rented a Sigma 50-500mm APO DG OS HSM lens so i was all excited about using it. Hope you like what I've taken, if not let me know why. Enjoy your look around.

Some are good, a few are a little tight, a couple look a bit soft, tough shooting in the rain.

Shooting in the rain is so tough, especially when there is a bunch of spray. If you are using AF, then the camera can pick up on that, so you have to try to set your focus point out of the spray.
#5 starts to show what you can get when it is dark and rainy, and is a good concept, but to me it is a little soft.

#6 is a good rain shot, the car is nice and crisp, you get the spray and rooster tails BEHIND the car.

#7 IMO was shot too inline with the car, yes you get the good drips off the side of the car, but the shutter speed was slow enough that the car is soft, the rain is soft and to me the car is too obscured by the rooster tails/spray. I am not sure what the SS was, there is no EXIF, but that angle could have been shot faster to get a better result, or move off that angle and get more of the side of the car.

Not rain related, by #4 is uncomfortably close to the bottom left side of the frame. #1 suffers from being too close to the right side. General rule of thumb in motorsports is give the car a place to "go", more space in front in a shot like that.

#2 is nicely done, I like pans with cross pan traffic in the back, it just adds to the speed of an image.

Hope that wasn't too much.

No thats very helpful thanks. It can be very difficult at times with not being media to get decent shots, but i am still learning, I've only had my camera since March 22nd.

yep, non-media makes you work a little harder, more of a challenge but it will better you in the end. You are doing pretty good if you just started this year...my first year worth of images, I might have had 10 keepers, and none of them would have been posted for ANYONE to see, so you are doing good. Keep it up.
